Blaine Weber

Blaine Weber passed away in March 2023. He retired from Weber Thompson in March 2022, after dedicating 35 years to mentoring a generation of designers. Blaine will be remembered as a leader, designer, mentor, and friend who inspired everyone to speak up and believed that everyone had something valuable to contribute to the firm. His legacy will continue to resonate with the entire professional community and everyone at Weber Thompson.

With high profile, skyline-changing projects such as the award-winning Fifteen Twenty One Second Avenue, Premiere on Pine, Cirrus, Kiara, Avenue Bellevue, Founding Principal Blaine Weber has led our High-Rise Design Studio to the stellar west coast reputation it holds today. He has over 49 years of experience designing high-rise towers, hotels, luxury condominiums, complex mixed-use projects and a wide range of commercial projects.

As an undergraduate at the University of Hawaii, Blaine earned three Awards for Design Excellence from the American Institute of Architects, while studying under internationally acclaimed architects Jorn Utzon and Arata Isozaki. Blaine continued to develop his design and leadership skills through extensive continuing education programs at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and by serving as faculty for numerous seminars and symposiums.

Blaine was appointed by three consecutive Governors to The Washington State Board of Architects, where he served for twelve years. Historically active in the community, Blaine has Chaired the Downtown Seattle Design Review Board where he served two terms; he has also Chaired The Ethics & Practice Committee of Seattle AIA. A corporate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Blaine is currently licensed in Washington and California, [with inactive licenses in Colorado and Hawaii].
