Austin Besse

For Austin Besse, the act of problem solving to create the perfect balance in design, use and the client’s desires is one of the most rewarding aspects to every project.

Joining Weber Thompson from New York City, Austin Besse is a designer with a wealth of experience ranging from high-rise residential and hospitality design to high-end residential work for private clients. As a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Architecture, part of Austin’s design process and focus lie in the emphasis of design and technology, communicating each project’s ideas through strong visual graphics.

Austin has worked on several complex, multi-building projects during his time at Weber Thompson. Two of those include Trailside, a two-phase student living community, and Arista, a mixed-use apartment project. Arista and Trailside in tandem will become seamless extensions of nearby University Village by keeping with the shopping destination’s eclectic design cues, while together creating their own micro-neighborhood next to the Burke Gilman Trail. It’s these sorts of projects that engage Austin’s passion for architecture and its place in a social and cultural context. Through this project he had the opportunity to partake in a dialogue about maintaining the integrity of urban fabric, and dissecting the lines between public and private spaces.
