For Austin Besse, the act of problem solving to create the perfect balance in design, use and the client's desires is one of the most rewarding aspects to every project.
Joining Weber Thompson from New York City, Austin Besse is a designer with a wealth of experience ranging from high-rise residential and hospitality design to high-end residential work for private clients. As a graduate from Cornell University with a BA in Architecture, part of Austin’s design process and focus lie in the emphasis of design and technology, communicating each project’s ideas through strong visual graphics.
Austin has worked on several complex, multi-building projects during his time at Weber Thompson. One of those includes Pike Motorworks, a two-building, mixed-use residential and retail project with a historic past on Seattle’s Capitol Hill. It’s this sort of project that engages Austin’s passion for architecture and its place in a social and cultural context. Through this project he has had the opportunity to partake in a dialogue about maintaining the integrity of urban fabric, and dissecting the lines between public and private spaces.
