Weber Thompson’s newest sustainable commercial office project, DATA 1, received the Vision Award for Water at the 2017 Seattle 2030 District Vision Awards ceremony on October 12th. The Vision Awards celebrates leaders in our community that are working to transform Seattle’s urban environment. Awards were given in four different categories including Leadership, Energy, Water and Transportation.
Located in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, DATA 1 is designed around energy-efficiency, sustainability and community. The LEED Gold registered and Salmon-Safe certified project features biofiltration retention planters that treat 160,000 gallons of the heavily polluted rainwater runoff from Aurora Bridge annually. Two additional future phases of remediation are planned on nearby properties with the goal of treating over 2 million gallons of polluted runoff annually every year. Weber Thompson was the architect and landscape architect on the project, and the project is managed by Stephen C. Grey & Associates. DATA 1 will be fully occupied by the end of the year; Tableau Software is the office tenant.
