Stirring the pot with WT’s annual cook-off

Every year Weber Thompson’s in-house chefs come together for an annual cooking competition. Traditionally they’ve been chili cook offs, but this year we decided to really stir the pot and turn it into a soup competition. The show down was held on Monday, March 12th with 13 soups competing for the coveted wooden spoon trophy.

Soups ranged from shellfish chowder to Thai Curry, Pickle Soup to Pozole, but only one could be crowned the 2018 Soup Competition Winner. The votes were tallied and it was a tight race, but it was Jeff Reibman’s Hungarian Goulash that wowed the staff and emerged as the clear winner.

Second place was Susan Bercaw’s Pickle Soup, and there was a tie for third place with Kristen Scott’s Red Lentil with Lemon and Spinach soup, and Marc Furst’s Mazo Ball Soup.
