A recent transplant to Seattle from New Delhi, Neha Goel is passionate about architecture, sustainable design and the beauty of the outdoors. When she talks about being in Seattle, she glows. It’s clear that she’s found the place where she belongs even though she says ‘Seattle chose her,” not the other way around. She ended up at Weber Thompson after her husband got a job at a Seattle-based tech company, and has loved the opportunity to learn about the region’s sophisticated zoning, design review and construction processes.

Working in India after graduation gave her a robust background in single and multi-family residential design, sustainability, construction administration, and culturally appropriate design. In her previous firm, she worked with clients from day one – transforming their whims and fancies into a final product. She worked closely with craftspeople on site to find the best design solutions – and would transfer what she learned in the field to documentation on future projects.

In addition to architecture, Neha has experience working as an installation artist. She’s designed several elaborate sculptures for interior and exterior environments, one of them a fountain with rotating frames designed to be equally as beautiful with water as without. Considering the challenges of location, climate, resources and context are what drive many of Neha’s design decisions, and she relishes the ability to collaborate with other designers and the tradespeople who will be constructing her creations.

Neha has no need for a television – she is in awe of Seattle and spends every possible minute exploring the nooks and crannies of the Pacific Northwest’s mountains and waterways. Most weekends she travels or goes outside; she has kayaked, hiked hundreds of miles, biked, and traveled to Alaska, Utah and several national forests since moving to Seattle in early 2015.
