Waverly is an elegant and contemporary 28-story residential tower that will bolster the stylistic offerings of a rapidly maturing and diverse neighborhood. Located at 210 8th Ave N in the Aurora Corridor of South Lake Union, the project is slated to be complete in 2021.
With 374 upscale units, the apartments will cater to the housing needs of the rapidly growing South Lake Union community while providing a wide range of unit sizes and configurations that appeal to core urban dwellers and those looking for a pied-à-terre.
A large community space tied directly to the exterior courtyard will provide a high level of street activation throughout the day, contributing to both the vibrancy and safety of the area. Amenities include an art gallery “living room” in the main lobby, co-working space, a yoga studio and a futsal court. Rooftop space will also provide expansive views of Puget Sound, the Space Needle, downtown, Lake Union and the surrounding mountain ranges.
A new worship space for Seattle’s Unity Church will be located adjacent to the tower – their desire for a modern new home prompted the redevelopment of the site. The result was an available parcel with high-rise potential. An underground garage will serve both buildings, and a shared landscape design will link the two projects. Respectfully offset both physically and aesthetically, Waverly provides a backdrop to the new Unity Church. The church design lead is Olson Kundig, who is also the Landscape Architect for the ground plane. Weber Thompson is the architect of Waverly and the Landscape Architect for the tower’s exterior podium and roof designs.
