The Stelvio — Redmond, WA
The Stelvio's concept is inspired largely by mountain and territorial views, as well as neighborhood characteristics, including its proximity to Redmond Grove and Old Town. Located within walking distance of the Sammamish River Trail and Redmond Town Center, this mixed-use, corner lot development will also benefit from new Bear Creek Parkway streetscape and transit improvements.
The proposed building holds its corner to provide a strong focal point to the improved streetscape. The north face of the structure is envisaged to suit exposure to the street, giving it a pronounced curb presence, and creating a reviving, urban statement in a developing neighborhood zoned for higher density. Inflections at the south façade and a courtyard allow for enhanced light gain and fresh air, while exterior passageways blend with balconies for enjoyment of the atrium-like court as well. Retail spaces of the building have been conceived with extra height to allow for mezzanine area and increased parking within the structure. The penthouse amenity space, with its large balcony area, is designed to take advantage of the most desirable views the building will have to offer.
