South Lake Union — Seattle, WA
Weber Thompson worked with the City of Seattle to provide urban design, graphic and charette facilitation services for the South Lake Union Urban Design Framework. Through a series of charettes, the City and Weber Thompson (with guidance from a range of community stakeholders) consolidated past planning efforts and evaluated new opportunities to establish a shared design vision. This vision is essential to address how future development will affect quality of life and the role that place-making and urban design plays in creating a successful neighborhood. Its findings will guide the City of Seattle in amending its regulatory structure to include incentive structures and an implementation strategy for the future of South Lake Union.
