Weber Thompson was one of 20 design firms to participate in the first annual Product Runway, a fashion design competition and benefit for the Interior Design Coalition of Washington. Each team was tasked with creating an original garment out of interior design materials—anything from carpets to fabrics to lighting—and styling a model who would sashay down the runway wearing the finished piece at the cumulative fashion show.
Weber Thompson’s group put a contemporary spin on the classic power suit using office interiors materials. A sharp blue blazer and flounced orange skirt were made from upholstery materials, and the model was accessorized with a marker board bag and shoes decorated with electrical wire.
The sold-out fashion show and party was a smashing success, and the quality and creativity of the garments amazed the audience.
