Weber Thompson Partnership with Chef John Howie Continues
Noted Chef John Howie has selected Weber Thompson to design his new Seattle Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar next to the Pan Pacific Hotel at 2200 Westlake.
The project continues the successful partnership that began with the original Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar in Bellevue, Wash. A Seattle Post-Intelligencer reviewer called Weber Thompson’s design of the first Seastar “elegant, but not stuffy; opulent but comfortable; stylish and handsome.”
Interior Design Group Principal Donna Bergeron, IIDA, LEED AP, said the new Seastar will incorporate elements from the Bellevue restaurant “but with a fresh Seattle flair.”
The floor plan subtly evokes waves that divide the restaurant into four areas: the entry, the bar and raw bar, the dining area and a small private dining room.
The public will get its first glimpse of the restaurant in February 2009, when it’s scheduled to open.
In addition to the Seastar restaurants, Weber Thompson designed the interiors of Sport, Howie’s family sports bar at Seattle’s Fisher Plaza, and Howie’s highly anticipated new steakhouse in Bellevue’s Bravern project.
