Neptune — Seattle, WA
The Neptune is a 234-unit mixed-use residential building that is an early step in transforming a commercial area into a vibrant urban village. The base of the building is composed of brick veneer that creates a strong urban street presence in context with Neptune's flanking commercial buildings. The building's storefronts are designed to activate the sidewalk and promote the pedestrian experience. At the corner of the building is a glass tower, topped by an oversized (and industrially flavored) iconic project identifier that announces "NEPTUNE" in the style of Seattle's fading culture of dramatic, eclectic signage.
Neptune fronts the street to enhance the urban edge, while a European-flavored interior courtyard creates a quiet urban oasis in the middle of the city. Lush landscaping and a water feature resonates throughout the courtyard.
