Edmonds Green — Edmonds, WA
The landscape for Edmonds Green reinforces the urban design objectives of this mixed use, transit oriented center, changing the focus from cars to people and place along this stretch of State Route 99. The landscape distinguishes and defines the streetscape and retail frontages, different entry areas and paths and a central village green that acts as a focus for residents, shoppers and office workers.
Three different areas mark the development. The entry incorporates a stormwater collection / infiltration pond and vegetated wetlands. The oval-shaped central gathering area features an interactive water feature, sunken plaza and terraced seating. The lower entry plaza landscape was designed to usher people from the busy street to the office lobby, retail entrance and a café seating area.
