Eden Hill — Seattle, WA
Eden Hill is a beautifully-proportioned brick building in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood that references surrounding older brick buildings while creating a connection between the neighborhood, and adjacent Queen Anne Community Center and park. Eden Hill includes 36 apartments and a 14,000 gsf retail base with a Bartell Drugs and Pasta & Co restaurant. The site was redeveloped from a gas station to a sustainably-designed mixed-use residential/retail building that is pursuing LEED-NC Silver certification.
The Queen Anne community cares deeply about their neighborhood and the neighborhood council works to ensure that new development fits the character and context of the surrounding area. Weber Thompson addressed the challenge by engaging the community, incorporating the Queen Anne design guidelines, and including contextual standards to create a design that the community and developer approved.
