Colman Center — Seattle, WA
Despite a high concentration of creative professionals in the area, Seattle is lacking office buildings that cater to this unique sub-culture. Colman Center seeks to fill this niche as a building that resonates with designers, software developers, architects and other members of the creative class. The emphasis is on raw, textural materials like exposed concrete and steel; inspired, flexible spaces; and a sense of community. Although the building will incorporate cutting-edge technology, sustainable design strategies and modern materials, it still seeks an authentic feel. Colman Center will be respectful of the waterfront and surrounding historic buildings, uniting old and new in a building that is distinctly Seattle. Colman Center is pursuing LEED Silver certification.
