Judges for the 2019 Gold Nugget Awards have named two Weber Thompson projects as award winners in its 56th annual competition, which honors design and planning excellence and draws entries from throughout the United States and internationally. DATA 1’s Landscape received the Grand Award in the ‘Best Landscape Architecture for a Community’ category, and Arbora Court received a Merit Award in the ‘Best Affordable Housing Community – over 60 dwelling units per acre or more’ category. Earth Month Project Feature: Solis

With its enhanced building envelope, Solis, located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, is targeting Passive House certification, one of the most rigorous certifications for energy efficiency. Solis is multi-family housing building comprised of apartment units paired with a lush garden spaces that, upon completion, will become the largest certified Passive House building in the state. In honor of Earth Month, we’re celebrating three of the project’s most innovative sustainable features.

Offsetting our carbon footprint one tree at a time

As part of Weber Thompson’s Sustainability Action Plan, we have a long term goal of achieving carbon neutrality in our office operations. This goal requires balancing a measured amount of carbon released with an equivalent amount sequestered or offset. As a signatory to the AIA 2030 Commitment, we are required to improve our office operations, which helps make us passionate about this commitment to sustainability in our daily lives, and be a model for how we want our built projects to perform. 2018 Passive House Northwest Conference: The Future and Value of Passive House Design

I recently had the opportunity to represent Weber Thompson at Passive House Northwest’s (PHnw) 9th Annual Conference in Olympia, WA. PHnw is a community of architects, builders, developers and policymakers who champion passive house construction, an uber-energy efficient means of building. Honoring Earth Month: A Recycling Refresher for Weber Thompson

Last month, in preparation for Earth Month, the Weber Thompson SustainabiliTeam (WTST) office operations crew put their talents together and created a rap about waste sorting to the tunes of Hamilton. Yes, you read that correctly. To re-energize the WT staff, the office operations team took over the bi-monthly all office meeting and rapped (or should I say wrapped?) about compost, trash and recycling. DATA 1 Takes Home NAIOP Night of the Stars award for Office Development of the Year


Weber Thompson’s most recently completed commercial office project, DATA 1, received the Office Development of the Year award at the NAIOP Night of the Stars ceremony on Friday, November 3rd 2017.
