Once again Weber Thompson’s house band gave it their all for the Housing Development Consortium’s Affordable Housing Week Theme Song competition. ‘Our House’ – an ode to the 80’s hit – is a goofy tribute to our belief that housing is a basic human right; that we must work together with our neighbors and fellow citizens to be dreamers, to imagine a future with housing for all.
However mighty our effort, it wasn’t enough to top this year’s clear winner: ‘A Mosaic Inside Me.’ Created by Path with Art, the song – and the cause – are humbling. Path with Art is an organization that transforms the lives of people recovering from homelessness, addiction, and other trauma by harnessing the power of creative engagement as a bridge to community and a path to stability.
We couldn’t be happier that HDC selected Path with Art’s song as the winner of Affordable Housing Week. Cheers to another successful week of dedicated housing advocacy and education in our region, and cheers to creativity as a means for positive change! That is a cause we can always get behind.
